A total of eight applications were received by the EOSC-Pillar Open Call for Thematic Service Providers that closed at the end of February 2021. After an initial eligibility check, six applicants have been invited. They will further improve their services with support from EOSC-Pillar experts and subsequently present these in detail during the virtual hackathon that will take place in mid-June 2021.

The selected service providers are from UK, Switzerland, Austria, France and Luxembourg, plus one from a transnational European team. The proposed services address main aspects in the spirit of Open Science. They leverage cloud-based scientific data analysis workflows, provide open data repositories for numerous research disciplines in compliance with FAIR principles, provide usage statistics of the digital documentation of research institutions and add value to published and reference data in the astronomy domain.

After receiving coaching from the EOSC-Pillar project experts and alignment with the EOSC requirements, these new services will become a valuable addition to the EOSC portfolio!
