The EOSC Executive Board Landscape Working Group has recently published the final versions of two key studies, providing an updated overview of the current landscape of infrastructures, initiatives and policies across Europe related to the development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
EOSC-Pillar played a crucial role in the collection of data and information on Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy, thanks to the National Initiatives Survey coordinated by the University of Vienna and carried out across research funders, universities, research infrastructures, and e-infrastructures, acknowledged in particular in section 3.5.2 of the Landscape Report.
You can find the full report of the survey at this link, while you can navigate some of the main takeaways in this data viewer.
Building on the findings of the Landscape Report, the follow-up Landscape Analysis (“Country Sheet Analysis”) reflects the rapid development in EOSC and offers a deeper dive into the country sheet data, complementing the work of the INFRAEOSC-5B Projects, which have assessed the landscape at the local level.
Apart from EOSC-Pillar's contribution to the surveys themselves and to the efforts of the Landscape WG, the Analysis also mentions the consultation that we launched in collaboration with ERA-LEARN this summer to assess synergies between Horizon 2020 and European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF), which will provide insights into how the Funds can be used to implement or upgrade EOSC-related infrastructures.
We are inviting the EOSC-Pillar community to read both documents produced by the EOSC Landscape WG.
